There has been a resurgence in the popularity of Audiobooks in recent years, with many citing the accessibility of the format, which can be downloaded in digital formats such as MP3, as the reason, making them perfect for the “iPod generation” to listen to books at their own convenience.
In addition to CDs, the digital format has now also become more popular with authors and publishers because the cost of production is minimal in comparison to printing and publishing millions of copies of books, and while some believe that there will always be a demand for books, it shouldn’t be ignored that the production of audiobooks opens up the possibility of attracting new customers who don’t enjoy reading or simply don’t have time to sit down and open up a book.
