Everybody at Audio Factory is delighted to announce that the audiobook version of Dancing On The Wind, written by New York Times bestseller Mary Jo Putney has now been released and is available to buy on Amazon, Audible and iTunes.
Commissioned by Mary Jo Putney for the second time after producing her novel The Bargain in January, the book’s director Arran Dutton worked closely with the author to cast the narrator, listening to over 200 auditions from voice artists across the country including some from a few recognisable faces. Wiltshire based voice artist William Kirby was finally cast in the role and his deep, soothing tones complements this regency romance perfectly. Here’s the synopsis:
With his unearthly beauty and diabolical cleverness, Lucien Fairchild, ninth Earl of Strathmore, has more than earned the nickname Lucifer. A tragic past has driven him to use his formidable talents to protect his country from secret enemies, and it is a job he does superlatively well… until he meets a mysterious woman whose skill at deception equals his own. By turns glamorous and subdued, reckless yet vulnerable, his enchanting adversary baffles his mind even as she captures his heart. A perilous mission has forced Kit Travers into a deadly game of ever changing identities and needful lies, and a single misstep might cost her, her life. But Lucien easily sees through her disguises. Unwilling to trust, yet unable to part, they join forces to search the dangerous underworld of London society – and discover that even two master deceivers cannot escape from passion’s sensual web.
Speaking about the book, Dave Perry, the lead producer on the title said: “We had a great time working with Mary Jo and William. We found Dancing On The Wind to be thoroughly entertaining with lots of dry humour and dark psychological subject matter complementing great action and a wonderful game of cat and mouse when it comes to the lead characters’ love interests.”
Since 1987, Mary Jo Putney has published over forty books and counting. Her stories are noted for psychological depth and unusual subject matter such as alcoholism, death and dying, and domestic abuse. She has made all of the national bestseller lists in the USA including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USAToday and Publishers Weekly.
Highly respected within the industry, the ten-time finalist for the Romance Writers of America, RITA, has won RITAs for Dancing on the Wind as well as The Rake and the Reformer. As a result Ms Putney is on the RWA Honor Roll for bestselling authors and has also been awarded two Romantic Times Career Achievement Awards, four NJRW Golden Leaf awards, plus the NJRW career achievement award for historical romance. In 2013 she was awarded the Romance Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award. Despite this haul of achievements, there’s no ego attached and she remains one of the nicest people to work with.
