Having recorded a number of pilot episodes throughout September, the month of October has been dedicated to post production. It’s been a hard slog. However, now with most of the hard work done there is a satisfying feeling as we can finally release content that we started to pull together six months ago. It feels like longer.
It gives everybody at Audio Factory great pleasure to announce that the pilot episode of our live music programme Live at Orchard is now available as a free download from the Audio Factory website. Click here to listen to the session featuring the phenomenal Yeovil based hard rock outfit Hundred Days, which was recorded at Barton St David’s Orchard Studios ahead of the release of their latest album Mission Exodus.
While we have initially released the programme in podcast format, Live at Orchard will be broadcast on a number of community radio stations across the South West in the near future. An announcement with more details on when and where it can be heard will be made in the coming months.
The release of Live at Orchard closes a long but exciting month for Audio Factory, which started with a visit to the wonderful Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival. The event ran from 6-8 October and gave us a chance to meet others who are involved in the media industries and we met a lot of inspirational, interesting and talented people. We were also able take part in some fantastic and insightful workshops including ‘how to make your own Gromit’ held by Aardman Animations’ Jim Parkyn, who is one of the lead animators on the Wallace & Gromit series and films.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Claire Sully, Ciara Poot and the rest of the team who organised a great event that brought so much to our area. The whole team treated us very kindly and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to attend. We would also like to thank Dominic Weston from Icon Films who spent a lot of time with us and gave us invaluable advice. We’ll definitely be going back next year.
