This week everybody involved with Audio Factory has been worked hard to record two very different pilot episodes. Post production has now begun on the two projects, which will be made available in podcast format via iTunes and the website in October.
The radio sitcom pilot for the series Sheepsbere Bay was the focus on Tuesday 13th September with director and writer John Stephens arriving at Orchard Recording Studios with a talented cast for what was meant to be the first of two days of recording. However, the cast and crew seemed to gel immediately, which doesn’t usually happen, and the result was wrapping in one long but enjoyable day.
Credit has to go to a cast that was pulled in from across the UK. Every performance exceeded our expectations and we are now very excited about John’s quirky and heart warming comedy. Everybody at Audio Factory is very excited about this project.
Being gifted a free day was a god send for everybody involved with the company as it allowed us to begin with the edit for the project, do some much needed admin work and prepare for Live at Orchard, the pilot that we recorded on Saturday 17th September. The pilot for the live music programme, which focussed on Yeovil based hard rock band Hundred Days (www.hundreddays.co.uk), is to be the first of many that we will produce as we look to give Somerset based artists an outlet for their material.
Hundred Days were on top form on the day with flawless and energetic performances of songs from their new album ‘Mission Exodus’, while they even threw in a cover of Wings’ hit “Live and Let Die” that blew us away. Katy Gundry presented the programme and interviewed the band, finding out a bit more about them, their views on the local music scene and how they eat their Spaghetti. We think people are going to enjoy this and we’re expecting that it will be going out on community radio in the next few months.
Producers Dave Perry and James Wilkes have to be given a pat on the back for their technical work on both days and everybody at Audio Factory would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who gave their time to become involved in both of these projects in what has been a very productive, fun and exciting week for the company.
Next up is the final recording session for the remake of Piers Paul Read’s House on Highbury Hill. We can’t wait.
